3 Full-time 1 hour ago Full Job Description The Director Of Development is responsible for cultivating, securing, and stewarding major gifts in support of the College's strategic initiatives.
Working directly with the major gifts staff, the Director of Development Operations, the Associate Vice President for Advancement, and the Vice President for Advancement, this position is responsible for development and strategic leadership of all activities related to the cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of major gift donors.
Key
Responsibilities:
Recruits, develops, coaches, inspires, and empowers a team of Major Gift Officers.
Develops strategies to ensure that the major gift program if efficient, effective, ethical and well leveraged.
Responsible for the success of individual and team growth and performance toward revenue goals.
Ensures that major gift staff status.
Integrates major gift operations with annual fund to identify new major gift prospects.
Works with Vice President and Associate Vice President for Advancement on annual planning, budgeting, and goal setting for major gift-related activities.
Forecasts, supervises and approves expenditures in relation to budget.
Identifies, cultivates, and solicits prospects for gifts of $25,000
or more and stewards donors from a major gift prospect pool of approximately 150.
Responsible for annual goals for major gift development and revenue generation Manages and tracks movement of prospects towards major gift commitments and completion of the development cycle.
Ensures that prospect is being cultivated for the most appropriate project and honors wishes and intent.
Completes accurate and timely contact reports, schedules subsequent steps of engagement, and acknowledge donors time or gifts immediately.
Identifies and recommends strategies to enhance donor engagement with the College.
Works collaboratively with and in support of volunteers, other development and advancement staff, and other College representatives for the benefit of the College.
Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities:
Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred 3-5 years of major gift experience in an institution of higher education required.
Comprehensive campaign experience desired Roanoke College is a nationally ranked residential liberal arts college affiliated with the Lutheran Church (ELCA), located in the beautiful Roanoke Valley of Virginia.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
