1771 POLICE OFFICER dated 04/21/2014 DUTIES:
Ensures compliance/enforces full range of Federal, State and Local laws, ordinances, rules and regulations pertaining to law enforcement work.
Possesses arrest/apprehension authority.
Required to carry agency approved firearm in performance of duties.
Provides physical protection of patients, visitors, and employees.
Responsible for preservation of peaceful environment necessary for operation of medical treatment programs.
Charged with protection of U.
S.
Government and personal property on VA controlled property.
Conducts vigorous/inquisitive random foot/vehicle patrols of medical center grounds, parking lots, and grounds.
Provides directions/assistance to patients, volunteers, visitors, and employees.
Responds to wide variety of emergencies including crimes in progress, disturbances, assaults, fires, etc.
; routinely intercedes in physical assaults in progress.
Transports those physcially arrested to detention facilities and performs required booking procedures.
Fully investigates crimes, some of which extend beyond one duty shift.
Seeks and detects signs of alcohol and drug abuse.
Uses a portable radio for internal and external communications with other VA Officers and local law enforcement agencies.
Performs searches and seizures in accordance with established procedures.
Establishes surveillance operations to detect unauthorized activities, and special monitoring of suspected individuals or vulnerable areas.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
