Supervisory Education Program Specialist

This position is located in the Veterans Administration (VA), Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Mid-Atlantic Health Care Network (VISN 6), in any of the Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) or their satellite facilities located within North Carolina, Virginia, and Beckley, West Virginia.
The incumbent serves as the Supervisor for Education in Salem, Virginia, with the responsibilities of planning, developing, coordinating, implementing, evaluating, and reporting on plans and procedures required to meet the administrative activities and programs within the section.
The incumbent is responsible for conducting in-service training and assisting in the development and implementation of training programs and to develop, implement and coordinate staff development programs to include computer software training administered by the Service.

Supervisory Education Program Specialist GS-1720-12/PD#1948 Major duties include but are not limited to:
o Serves as a local authority in educational program/project planning and developmento Plans, promotes, and develops educational programs and projects by stimulating activity and providing directiono Provides advice and assistance in the implementation of Veteran Health educational programs/projectso Performs work associated with the evaluation of course in training proframs o Instructs training courses in a Program of Instruction o Coordinates projects for the development and implementation of training courses and course materialso Performs duties involving promoting, coordinating, and improving education policies, programs, standards, activities, and opportunitieso Recommends procedures for preparing, documenting, validating, and presenting resource requirementso Manages and documents data in a format that can be adequately manipulated during the analysis processo Exercises administrative and technical supervision of a staff of employees to accomplish the work of the Education Service Lineo Plans work to be accomplished by staff, sets and adjusts short-term priorities as needed, and prepares schedules for completion of worko Advises, counsels or instructs staff on both work and administrative matterso Develops performance standards, observes and evaluates work performanceo Directs a program with significant resources including continuing medical education, nursing orientation and education, career development, tuition support and reimbursement, affiliated student and trainee programs, and patient education for the facility .
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
