Purchasing Agent

The incumbent will purchase various equipment and supplies using the government purchase card for micro purchases. He/she provides administration and oversight on orders and services and coordinates with the using services representatives regarding sources of supplies and acceptable substitutions when needed. Procures supplies and services to meet the purchase, rental or lease needs of the organization. Responsible to advise approving officials and purchase card holders on purchase card program and procurement procedures. Further, the incumbent maintains continuous liaison with vendors, medical center professionals and staff to ensure timely acquisition and provision of items and services to our veterans. Incumbent will provide excellent customer service to the medical staff, customers, contractors and vendors. Issues will be resolved in an expeditious matter to ensure request and bills are processed timely and accurate. Work Schedule:

Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-5 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-4. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. Specialized
Experience:
You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-4 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
Purchasing items involving specialized and/or commercial requirements; purchasing items that have unstable price or product characteristics; authorizing and preparing purchase orders for medical equipment/devices; uses office automation equipment and programs for ordering, inventory, issuance, accounting and data tracking; and maintaining accurate funding, billing, and account balances for purchasing. OR, Education:
Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have the experience required for the GS-05 level. Four (4) years of successfully completed education above high school in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite. TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED. OR, Combination:

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
