Health System Specialist

Major duties include but not limited to:
Acts as delegated authority to make decisions and act on matters within the responsibility of the office of the Director using broad policy guidelines. Works closely with the Chief of Staff, Associate Medical Center Director, Nurse Executive, Service and Division Chiefs and other key personnel in the formulation of projects, reports, strategic plans, resource utilization, needs assessments and assigned administrative activities. Advises the Director on all aspects of the Medical Center operations and serves as a member of the management team in the assessment of current operations and development of new programs and policies. Reviews and evaluates proposed policy and procedure drafts submitted to the Director. Conducts studies of manpower, space, programs, budget, and equipment utilization at the request of the Director. Examines programs and recommends expanding, contracting, combining, separating, or realigning them to best meet patient healthcare needs most economically. Provides advice to the clinical services concerning budget formulation, reviews and evaluates annual budget proposals, and reviews requests for additional resources (space, equipment, and personnel) from the clinical services. Provides advice and assistance to service chiefs and their administrative staff in carrying out their personnel management responsibilities, and in devising workable strategies and solutions to accomplish professional objectives. Responsible for budget preparation and management for the Director's office. Responsible for recurring and special reports from the Director's office and for the preparation and updating of policy memoranda under the responsibility of the Director. May perform other related duties as assigned. Work Schedule:

Experience:
You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-12 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
Progressively responsible analytical or administrative, or clinical management or supervisory experience in the health care field. This work may have been performed in an operating health care facility or a higher organizational echelon with advisory or directional authority over such facilities. Work must have involved a close working relationship with facility managers and analysis and/or coordination of administrative, clinical, or other service activities, and provided knowledge of the following:
Missions, organizations, programs, and requirements of health care delivery systems; Regulations and standards of various regulatory and credentialing groups; and Government-wide, agency, and facility systems and requirements in various administrative areas such as budget, personnel, and procurement. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
